  • Paulaner brewery group

    The Paulaner brewery group is one of the most important brewery groups in Germany. Like Karlsberg, Kulmbacher and Fürstenberg, it is a subsidiary of Brau Holding International. For a brewery with tradition such as Paulaner, professionalism in dealing with trends is an important basis of brand management.

    Trends describe present developments of a personal, social, societal or technical kind that lead to changes in preferences and consumer behavior. For the Paulaner group, an exhaustive “trend navigator” was created to process current trends for brand management purposes.

  • Barmer Ersatzkasse

    Barmer Ersatzkasse is Germany’s biggest provider of health insurance, with 7.2 million clients. An IFSE evaluation of integrated care on behalf of Barmer, the St. Franziskus foundation (hospitals) and Inoges AG (rehabilitation) shows that concepts of integrated care applied to healthcare lead to a significant increase in patients’ happiness and lower the costs of treatment.

    For the first time, the concept of integrated care was subjected to a scientific evaluation. The evaluated integration project was one of the first and biggest in German healthcare.

    As a family enterprise and brand manufacturer, Katjes is No. 3 in the German confectionery market. For Katjes, relevant subjects in the company environment were analyzed and evaluated by the Institute for Strategy Development. The result combines scientific insights with diagnoses of the most important stakeholders’ mindsets – linked to sociological and psychological aspects as well as strategic conclusions.

  • Merck KGaA

    Merck KGaA is a German family enterprise based in Darmstadt, and the world’s oldest pharmaceutical-chemical enterprise. For Merck Thailand’s “Pigments and Cosmetics Department” a new business design was developed in close cooperation with employees.

    A new common ground was established as well as options for the future were developed and evaluated through workshops. The results found a high level of acceptance with employees and management.

    The Trianel group is Germany’s foremost public utility cooperation. The Institute for Strategy Development developed a future workshop together with Prof Dr Birger P. Priddat and carried it out with forty executives of public utility companies. To this end, future topics on the subject of energy and communal economy were identified and processed in cooperation with all participants.

    The family enterprise Raps, based in Kulmbach, is a leading European producer of spices. As part of a strategy development project, the perspectives of Raps’ most important clients were analyzed. The results were then presented to the sales representatives and the management, who greeted them with great interest and translated them into selective measures.

  • Ardex Group

    The Ardex Group is among the market leaders in the area of specialist chemical construction materials. Over the past few years Ardex has established itself as a global player, the majority of whose revenue is being generated through international subsidiaries. Through two projects with IFSE, the Ardex Group’s international company culture has been examined in cooperation with its management, and evaluated in different ways.

    More than seventy people from locations all over the world took part in the project work. The projects generated a lot of attention and high levels of acceptance within the company.

    RWE Systems is the central service enterprise of RWE. The Institute for Strategy Development is developing, in cooperation with Blue Chip, an Essen-based communications agency , the so-called trend barometers for RWE Systems. So far, the subjects of operational pension schemes and E-Recruiting have been focused on. To examine portability in operational pension schemes, IFSE has incorporated leading experts in this area.

  • Microsoft

    On behalf of the software enterprise Microsoft Germany and in cooperation with the Witten/Herdecke University, together with Prof Dr Dirk Baecker, the scientifically independent study “Digital Mentality” was compiled, in which the phenomenon of digital piracy was examined. Subject of the examination are software pirates who create and use illegal copies of software in the privacy of their homes or at work. The primary focus is the predominant mentality in the use of digitalized intellectual property. 

    The study develops a typology of software pirates and shows the necessity of finding new solutions to deal with them. Over the course of months, the study found high resonance in the media. As with other studies of the Institute for Strategy Development, participants on opposing sides of the debate gave positive feedback on the study.

  • Brau Holding International

    Brau Holding International is the strongest network of regional breweries and the third biggest brewery group in Germany. It ordered the public study on can deposits, with the goal of compiling an exhaustive description of the various parties and their positions in the debate over can deposits. There was hardly another subject that dominated the country’s media in 2003 as strongly as this discussion did.

    To understand the convolutedness, the independent momentum and the normality of such conflict situations is the basis for constructive solutions. During the research for this study, more than one hundred interviews with leading managers, politicians and lobbyists were conducted .
