For each project, the Institute for Strategy Development puts together a team from its network. This network consists of economists, cultural scholars, historians, philosophers, sociologists and psychologists, historians and physicians. In the studies and consulting projects of IFSE since 2003, more than sixty associates, students and scientists were involved.
More than four hundred experts have been a part of our work so far. We call on experienced partners for special tasks. Created from the University Witten/Herdecke’s network, IFSE has Partnerships with further research facilities and specialized consulting agencies.
Hergen Wöbken, economist, founder and managing director

"If you can’t communicate the meaning of your enterprise to yourself and others, if you have no idea what you’ll do tomorrow, and with whom, you’ve got a problem. Without a framework for orientation, you are constantly in danger of misdirecting your resources. The most important aspect of strategy consulting is to be a counterpart to your clients. I don’t always have to come to the better conclusion. What I do want is for my client to arrive at the best conclusion for himself through conversation with me or project work with us."
Simon Deichsel, economist and philosopher

At the IFSE compatibility of family and profession are not empty words, but daily practice. The work schedule is as flexible as it can get and if the Nanny is off, I can even bring my daughter to internal meetings. The congenial use of new eWork technologies is enabling efficient team collaboration without the need for fixed office times.
Jannes Danlowski, social scientist

As a statistician, I enjoy turning numbers into words. At the IFSE this happens in an appealing way. It is similarly gratifying to share the mutual experience of turning creative ideas into innovative concepts.
Michaela Englert, cultural scholar

What is special about the IFSE’s work is that each problem yields its core questions when subjected to a fresh but also experienced point of view. Using these questions, a tailor-made method for solving the problem is developed with curiosity and expertise. Helping develop these processes is challenging and thrilling.
Patrick Hypscher, economist and philosopher

The enthusiasm for the selection of topics is palpable in everyone involved. The results count. The search for the new and essential are the projects’ charm. During discussions, difficult issues are processed theoretically, with a lot of verve, and thus practically fertilized. The heterogeneity of the projects sharpens the eye for the essential and the unexpected.
