New ideas come up quickly. It’s much harder to say goodbye to old ones. For an organization, innovation represents risks and opportunities at the same time. This area of tension may be rendered fertile. Organizations that are innovative are so in all areas, and send out impulses to departments and employees via organizational innovations. The creation of something new is not the task of any specific department or level of hierarchy.

There is no recipe for innovation, but there are forms and procedures which encourage or constrain them. So it is necessary to provide a cultural framework for diversity, to make the improbable more probable. IFSE offers a method for establishing a culture of innovation: its School for Innovation.
